You'll see each other when you both decide to.

profond is a dating app where an AI matches you on what you say — your values, your humour, the way you talk. Your photo and your real name stay hidden until you both agree to show them.

How it works

  1. You answer questions

A few minutes, no photos to scroll past. The AI reads your answers and picks one person for you.

  2. You write to each other

You see their age, their personality traits and a stand-in name. You have each written your own questions: you answer theirs before either of you decides to open the chat. Then it's text and voice notes, from day one.

  3. You decide together

Once 24 hours have passed and the conversation has actually gone somewhere, the app asks each of you separately whether you want to be seen. It only happens if you both say yes.

Why

On substance, not on the photo.

Most apps have you choose on a photo and then hope the conversation follows. We do it the other way round.

Waiting isn't a penalty we impose. It's what gives a conversation the chance to count before a photo decides for you.

What we don't do

  • No profiles to swipe through. One free match a month, chosen for you, and you can buy more when you want them.
  • No endless feed, no streaks to keep up, no “someone liked you”.
  • Identity verified at signup. Everyone here is a real person.

We make our money on invites and a subscription, not on your screen time.

Waitlist

We launch as a group, not one by one.

Everyone starts on the same day, so nobody walks into an empty app. Leave us a way to reach you and we'll let you know.
